GAINSWave for Women

GAINSWave utilizes high frequency, low intensity sound waves to improve blood flow. The sound waves repair aged blood vessels and stimulate growth of new blood vessels. GAINSWave uses specific protocols designed to optimize efficacy, safety and results.

GAINSWave is also extremely useful for addressing women’s health including:

Overactive bladder:  Overactive bladder causes a sudden urge to urinate. The urge may be difficult to stop, and overactive bladder may lead to the involuntary loss of urine (urge incontinence).  If you have an overactive bladder, you may feel embarrassed, isolate yourself, or limit your work and social life. Many providers will suggest behavioral changes (such as drinking less water) or prescribe pharmaceuticals to handle an overactive bladder.  We prefer a more natural approach.

Stress incontinence (such as after childbirth):   Stress incontinence happens when physical movement or activity — such as coughing, sneezing, running or heavy lifting — puts pressure (stress) on your bladder. Stress incontinence differs from urge incontinence, which is the unintentional loss of urine caused by the bladder muscle contracting, usually associated with a sense of urgency. Stress incontinence occurs when the muscles and other tissues that support the bladder (pelvic floor muscles) and the muscles that regulate the release of urine (urinary sphincter) weaken.

Vulvodynia: Vulvodynia (vul-voe-DIN-e-uh) is chronic pain or discomfort around the opening of your vagina (vulva) for which there’s no identifiable cause and which lasts at least three months. The pain, burning or irritation associated with vulvodynia can make you so uncomfortable that sitting for long periods or having sex becomes unthinkable. The condition can last for months to years.

Sexual Health After Menopause: Women experience many sexual health issues after menopause as a result of less blood flow and hormonal changes.

At the Holistic Wellness Center of the Carolinas, we look at many aspect of a woman’s health, including underlying reasons why she may have developed such sexual health concerns.  When we coupled our functional medicine approach with GAINSWave, we get the best results possible.
